The Lady in Gold is about a remarkable Jewish family, the Bloch-Bauers, and the most famous Austrian painter of his time, Gustav Klimt. It also covers the rise and fall of a rich Viennese culture and the fight to recover stolen art works after WWII.
The book club selected this non-fiction book as our July read. So, we were honored when Ms. O'Connor agreed to participate in an interview and discussion via Skype from Jerusalem. She was very engaging, smart, direct, a delight. She answered all our “how and why” questions with informed responses and humor. Her perspective helped us enormously in our understanding of her award-winning debut book. Based upon immediate feedback, our interactive event was a huge success!
