Welcome to CLIR! Clearly, the best continuing education value in the Bay Area.
The San Francisco Bay Area's Center for Learning in Retirement is a unique, member-run, lifelong learning community comprised of independent-minded, open and fun-loving people over 50. Most members are retired, although some continue to work part-time or volunteer, but all enjoy sharing CLIR's varied day-time program of educational, cultural and social experiences, with activities both in the classroom and out and about and around the Bay.
Established in 1973 by UC Berkeley Extension and then evolving to a stand-alone, non-profit educational organization, CLIR is all about exploring ideas, challenging members to try out new things, and engaging with each other through lively and interesting discussions. Many current members having participated in CLIR for ten, twenty, thirty, even all forty years of CLIR's existence. Clearly, CLIR is doing something right!
Explore our new website, with enhanced information and lots of new pictures.
